Quite a popular topic not only on this site. But there is still a lot of interest in it and I want to add my recommendations on this topic. There are indeed a lot of “non-specialists”; as in any field, now you need to be able to choose. But if in another area you risk losing only finances, then in psychology everything is more serious and dangerous. I will try to describe my observations and recommendations step by step.

1) Choose a psychologist according to your liking, watch his articles, videos, if available. I’m serious!) A psychologist primarily works “by himself,” and even if 10 of your friends have recommended a super-professional who has 20 major and additional degrees, if you are “not drawn to him” the likelihood that a productive therapeutic relationship will develop is quite low.

- look at his social networks, so you will understand how close the specialist is to you as a person

2) I am always for recommendations in any area, so if you decide to go to a psychologist, first of all ask your friends who are currently in therapy, who have undergone therapy before. But it is important to consider point 1)

3) If you found a psychologist on a recommendation or simply found a specialist yourself who “likes” you, what should you pay attention to next:
