What does resentment convey to us?

How not to become a hostage to your resentment?

Absolutely every person has felt offended or offended another person. Resentment is a normal human reaction when his expectations are not met, and also if it does not occur often.

In general, resentment is a secondary feeling, and it shows us that a person is dissatisfied with something or is angry about something.

Most often, resentment arises when people quarrel and break up, and there is neither the strength nor the desire to let the person go. A person does not know or does not know how to express his negative feelings and, as a result, directs the resentment inside himself.

It is important to remember that resentment is a destructive feeling! And it destroys the person who is offended, and not the one who offended.

The basis of all grievances is expectations! A person begins to expect specific actions from others. Very often those around them do not even realize that they are expecting something about them, because they simply were not even told about it.

And then the person is in the stage of observing actions! At the same time, he also, as a rule, does not correct or communicate his desires.

As a result, a person sees actions that he did not expect. Actual actions differ from his personal expectations.

Let’s look at three options for resentment:
